Bingo Prize Winners
VIP Trip to Las Vegas
Towards the end of 2008 we launched our Jackpot Club across Mecca Bingo, one of the benefits of joining the Jackpot Club was being entered into a draw to win VIP tickets to fabulous Las Vegas Nevada and a weekend with Bingo Dave!
In this story I will give you the censored version of a fantastic 3 night VIP getaway to the best adult playground in the world. I’m afraid it has to be censored as you have all heard the phrase ‘What happens in Vegas…….’.
The trip started with all the winners meeting Bingo Dave at Gatwick airport for our morning flight. Everyone arrived on time and we all got to know each other over a bacon roll and a few drinks (this was at 9am in the morning and we hadn’t left Gatwick yet!!)
We boarded the Virgin direct flight to Vegas with dreams of hitting the jackpot and winning big. After an hour we had drunk the plane dry so most people took the opportunity to have a sleep or enjoy the in-flight entertainment for the duration of the flight!
Nothing quite prepares you for the view you get when you come in to land at Las Vegas McLaren airport, it was simply breathtaking! So many casinos such little time…
We stayed at ‘THEhotel’ at Mandalay Bay. I have to say it was one of the most opulent, beautiful rooms I had ever had the pleasure to stay in. It’s a shame that I wouldn’t be using it much, as you never sleep in Vegas!
We spent the first evening high atop THEhotel at The Mix Lounge. This fashionable hotspot is one of the most stylishly hip lounges around. Offering stellar cocktail concoctions, an innovative bar menu and a seductive blend of music spun by savvy DJs. When you stepped step out on the 64th-floor balcony you enjoyed breathtaking views of the famed Las Vegas Strip.
The meal at The Mix Lounge was great and after we had all had our fill of wine and good food most of us took the opportunity to go to bed (we had already been up for over 30 hours) Some of us decided to keep going……. (big mistake by Bingo Dave!)
The next day guests had free time to enjoy the bright lights of Las Vegas. Most people took the opportunity to walk around some of the huge Las Vegas casinos including Ceasers Palace, The Belagio and the MGM Grand.
In the evening guests enjoyed going to the Cirque du Soleil Show ‘O’. Cirque du Soleil weaves an aquatic tapestry of artistry, surrealism and theatrical romance in the timeless production, "O" The international cast of world-class acrobats, synchronized swimmers, divers and characters performed in, on, and above water to create a breathtaking experience in a magnificent theatre reminiscent of a European opera house.
The Sunday was our last day in Vegas and we really made the most of it. We started early in the morning with a VIP Helicopter ride over the awe inspiring Hoover Dam and the magnificent Grand Canyon. A powerful and inspiring landscape, the Grand Canyon overwhelms the senses through its immense size. We embarked on this truly outstanding helicopter tour to the Grand Canyon West. We flew over several scenic sights on the way to the Grand Canyon, where we landed and had plenty of time to explore the canyon floor. We then descended 4,000 ft for a gourmet champagne picnic. I couldn’t think of a better start to the day!
After our Helicopter tour there was more free time to take in the sights before we met up again in the evening for a steak meal I'll never forget!
In the evening we went to the Four Seasons Hotel and to the fabulous Charlie Palmers Steak House. Voted "best steakhouse in Las Vegas" by the Las Vegas Review Journal just four months after opening this was a meal to Remember! The best part for me was when a guest ordered the 32oz steak and managed to eat the lot, it was even followed by finishing off 2 other guests dinners. I was amazed until he told me that he did the same only the day before!
The night ended with everyone on a high and becoming increasing sad at the thought of going back home.
The next day we were up bright and early where we checked out and made our way home. There were many darks eyes and many people wearing sunglasses as the true effect of Vegas started to take its toll.
It was a fantastic trip that I enjoyed with some fantastic people. Here’s hoping they let Bingo Dave back in to Las Vegas come 2009!
Here are just some of the kind comments we had about this fantastic trip:
“Just a quick note to thank you for the weekend. I would describe it as a "sleepless dream" so thanks very much!”
“Just coming down from cloud nine, what a week end, that was the best time we have ever had, thank you is just not enough for the way you organised things, the way you looked after us, we had such a great time, it was a great group of people, we had such fun and as for the helicopter trip that was just awesome, Las Vegas is a place I must visit again, you gave us such a great time.”
“What a Fantastic trip, when are we going again!!! Lol”
VIP trip to Wembley!
Congratulations to Mecca Bingo winners steph2211, Lovehearts and stevie_tp who joined Bingo Dave on Thursday 11th September for a VIP trip to Wembley to see the fantastic Madonna.
The 50 year old, mum-of-three strutted her stuff in a silk top hat, high-cut leotard, fishnet tights and knee-high leather boots; an outfit that proved her dedication to the gym – and the £6 million she spent on her own private workout world – really paid off.
The superstar’s performance at Wembley was part of her Sticky and Sweet world tour, which is hitting 37 venues in just under four months.
Thousands of fans turned up watch their pop heroine in action – and the enthusiastic crowd was peppered with celebrity pals like Gwyneth Paltrow, The Black Eyed Peas’ Fergie, and Kate Hudson, who was, at times, left open-mouthed by Madonna’s on-stage athletic exploits.
The fun packed night started with a slap up 3 course meal in the VIP hospitality area and then it was down to the concert. We all agreed the food was great but the free wine was even better! Once we made our way to the seats we all sat in awe at what a magnificent stadium Wembley is, if you haven’t been there yet you really must go! Unfortunately Madonna was a bit late coming on stage but she certainly made up for it for a fantastically energetic performance.
steph2211, Lovehearts and stevie_tp all had a good time with Lovehearts saying:
“Thanks you very much Mecca the trip was really appreciated, we loved the concert and had a great time”
And steph2211 wrote in and said:
“Hi Bingo Dave just to say a real big thank you to you and all at Mecca for the Madonna tickets, my guest and I had a really good night and just wanted to let you know just how grateful we are”
It was a pleasure to meet Mecca Bingo roomies and I look forward to meeting more roomies very soon! Don’t forget our next prize is VIP tickets to Las Vegas in our Jackpot Club promotion. Head to the promotions page now for more details. I will be in Vegas, will you?
