Welcome to this week’s fabulous Mecca Bingo Celeb Column. This week we’re shedding a tear over the latest celebrity breakups!

First up is the news that Chris Evans and Billie Piper have finally divorced, more than 3 years after they originally split up. The couple are apparently still close friends, despite being linked with new partners. Billie has even told DJ Evans she doesn’t want any of his £30m fortune in the divorce settlement.

The couple got hitched in Las Vegas in 2001, with the wedding reputedly costing just £250! Evans wooed a then 17-year-old Billie by buying her a brand new Ferrari and filling it with red roses – even though Billie had yet to pass her driving test. They have been separated since 2004, but were granted a quick divorce by the High Court - citing ‘irreconcilable differences’. The reason for the sudden rush? Evans has told pals that new flame Natasha Shishmanian is ‘the one’’ and he intends to marry her as soon as possible.

We’re turning to soaps now for a split of a different kind. One star you won’t be seeing back in the Rovers Return is Coronation Street’s Les Battersby, aka actor Bruce Jones. The 54-year-old was suspended from the show in March for allegedly insulting fans and discussing future story lines during a boozy night out at a restaurant. ITV bosses have decided not to bring him back following his suspension, while Jones himself has said he is “looking forward to what the future holds” after 10 years on the Street.

The star denies allegations that he abused fans while out in Stockport, Greater Manchester and bizarrely, is currently touring as a roadie for a rock tribute band!

Speaking of rock bands, Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora and actress Denise Richards are the latest Hollywood combo to go their separate ways. Apparently the stars split up 2 months ago, but kept their separation private because they have both “lived through public divorces” before. Denise famously dated the Bon Jovi rocker shortly after he split from wife Heather Locklear – one of Denise’s closest friends! Needless to say the pair are no longer pals, but we think Heather will be feeling much better now!

Finally, crooner and ex-Army Captain James Blunt has split from stunning Czech model Petra Nemcova. The ‘Your Beautiful’ singer met Nemcova in December 2005 and they started dating the following year. In November 2006, rumours circulated that they had split, but the couple denied the stories. In recent weeks, Blunt has been a regular on the Hollywood party circuit, hanging out with stars Lindsay Lohan, Kelly Osbourne and good friend Robbie Williams.
