Job’s a good ‘un!!It’s time once again for the weekly Mecca Bingo Celebrity Column. Every week we’ll bring you the best celebrity news so you can get the lowdown on your favourite superstars before playing online bingo with Mecca Bingo for some great cash prizes. This week, your roving celebrity reporter is talking jobs - who’s hired and who‘s fired! Multi-millionaire business guru and all-round boss from Hell, Sir Alan Sugar, has finally found his Apprentice after a gruelling selection process. After many weeks on the hit programme, Simon Ambrose, the cheeky, break dancing public schoolboy was hired ahead of hot favourite, tough-talking single mother, Kristina Grimes. Sir Alan decided that Simon was the right man to lead his expanding property empire, after he impressed developers, architects and property experts by designing a building in the final challenge. Simon lands the £100,000 a year job and will surely be looking to prove his doubters wrong – well done to that man! Meanwhile, everyone’s least favourite candidate, Katie Hopkins, has apparently been fired from her job at the Met Office, where she was working as a brand consultant – not many people will shed a tear at that news I’m sure. All this talk of jobs leads us nicely on to our favourite ‘before-they-were-famous’ celebrity jobs. You might think that some of the biggest stars on the planet have always had it their own way, but this week we are taking a look at some of the more interesting and down-right disturbing jobs that celebrities used to do. Gladiator star Russell Crowe used to entertain the crowds without the use of lions and swords in his early years. The brawny superstar worked as a DJ under the highly original name of “Russ Le Roq” at an Australian nightclub when he was just 16. Ever the charmer, Russell admitted that his teenage job made it “easy to pick up women.” Staying with the tough guys (and the lions), Rocky and Rambo star Sylvester Stallone was once employed as a lion cage cleaner. No wonder he always looks so fearless when he gets in the boxing ring, despite being over 60 and facing a man half his age! Despite being cool and slick in his latest blockbuster, Ocean’s 13, movie megastar Brad Pitt wasn’t always such a big draw for the punters. As a struggling actor in Los Angeles, Brad donned a chicken suit and stood outside a Sunset Boulevard fried chicken restaurant to attract customers. We wonder how well that would go down with wife Angelina Jolie now, though it would be handy for taking their children, Maddox, Pax, Zahara, and Shiloh, out for lunch. Finally, newly married rocker Rod Stewart once had probably the grimmest job of any celebrity – he used to work as a grave digger. No jokes about him burying his career please! See you next week for more hot celebrity gossip, but now it’s about time to get back to some online bingo action here at Mecca Bingo.
