Did I Turn The Oven Off?

Welcome to the latest edition of the Mecca Bingo celebrity column, where each week we take a look at what’s hot and what’s not in the world of fame and fortune. It’s time to down those bingo dabbers and take a few minutes away from your beloved bingo games, to get the latest gossip. This week, we take a look at some of the funniest, and most disturbing, obsessive celebrities.

We’ll kick things off with our favourite LA couple, David and Victoria Beckham. Word reaches us that David, obviously looking for something to do while he is on the football injury treatment table, has become so obsessive-compulsive that he’s started to colour-coordinate the contents of their fridge.

You’ll not find tomatoes next to the lettuce, or cheese on top of the cucumber in the Beckham household. Victoria blew the lid on David’s condition in a recent magazine interview, stating that he has to vacuum the house in straight lines (you can see the comparisons to mowing a football pitch there surely!) and insists on wearing a pinny while he’s doing it. Sounds like the prefect man to us, but shouldn’t someone of David’s enormous wealth be paying the cleaner to make sure everything is ship-shape?

Anyone walking on the recently vacuumed surface faces a stern telling off from the Lord of the Manor, so his celebrity mates Tm Cruise and J-Lo should be advised – take your shoes off when you come in!

Heather Mills, the estranged wife of Paul McCartney has had a traumatic week. After appearing on GMTV and just about every other show in the space of one day, many in the media believe that she is starting to become obsessed with the publicity surrounding her divorce from the former Beatle.

Mills has so far collected nearly 4500 negative articles from the national press, and provoked yet more reaction and comment when she claimed to have received worse coverage than a ‘paedophile or murderer’!

Next up we have movie babe Cameron Diaz, who has a reputation as being one of Hollywood’s most obsessive celebs. The Holiday star apparently won’t open a door with her hands, instead using her elbows to avoid touching the germ-infested door knobs. She’s also rather fond of scrubbing floors in her home, but denies being scared of germs; just ‘not into other people’s fluids’.

One final obsessive celebrity this month, and it is non-other than film heartthrob Leonard Dicaprio. How’s this for some method acting and getting into character – while researching the role of billionaire Howard Hughes in The Aviator, Leo revisited his own childhood obsession with cracks in the pavement. He became so engrossed in the character that he was frequently late for filming after retracing his steps on the way to the studio whilst avoiding the pavement cracks!

That’s enough for this week, but be sure to tune in next week when we’ll have more tales of triumph, woe and the downright odd from the celebrity world. In the meantime, why not play online bingo for your chance to win a bingo cash prize. Mecca Bingo is the online bingo site UK players love, and it’s easy to see why.
