Good old Britney Spears was pregnant again this year and finally admitted it after pictures showing a clearly bulging belly were splashed all over magazines and tabloids. The baby would be the second child for the singing star and her husband Kevin Federline.

Babies were big on the celebrity agenda again this month, with Geri Halliwell giving birth to a baby girl. She named her daughter Bluebell, following the trend of celebrities refusing to give their children normal names. It seemed Geri was determined to be a single Mum, declining to reveal the name of her child’s father.

Angelina Jolie added to the celeb baby count, giving birth to her first biological child, courtesy of Brad Pitt. With these two as her Mum and Dad, Shiloh Nouvel is bound to be so beautiful that the silly name probably won’t bother her. Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale also celebrated a new arrival this month, when Gwen gave birth to their son Kingston.

The Eurovision Song Contest took place this year and, unfortunately for Daz Sampson and his gaggle of schoolgirl style dancers, Finnish metal band Lordi went away as winners.

May was also the month of the most high-profile celeb split of the year. Paul McCartney and Heather Mills split this month and initially blamed intense media scrutiny as the reason for their break-up. Things were set to get a whole lot messier in coming months however…
