Min bet per hand - 50p
Max bet per hand - £5
Max bet per game - £5 per hand x maximum 10 hands = £50
How to Play
1) The player selects the bet per hand and number of hands to play (from 1 to10 inclusive) and selects Deal to start the game.
2) The bet per hand multiplied by the number of hands is deducted from the user's balance and this amount displayed as the total bet for the game, e.g. if a player selects 5 hands at £1 per hand, £5 is deducted from their balance and £5 is displayed as the total bet.
3) If the player's balance is insufficient for this total bet at this stage then the entire bet is rejected and the player must either change their bet and/or number of hands or they must add funds to their balance before proceeding.
4) 5 cards are dealt face up.
5) The game automatically sets holds on the cards of the best winning hand (pair of Jacks or better) from these 5 cards as a suggestion to the player, if a winning hand is available. This feature can be disabled in the menu.
6) The player is not bound by this suggestion and may chose to hold or unhold any of the five cards themselves.
7) Once the player is satisfied with the hold selection they click the Deal option. The held cards are fixed (indicated by a lock icon) for every hand of the game.
8) The un-held cards are discarded from the hand. New cards are dealt from the deck to the now empty un-held hand positions to complete the hand. The cards discarded play no further part in the game, i.e. they cannot be re- dealt at any point in the game, including any further hands.
9) The completed hand is compared to the paytable to calculate the prize, if any. Only the highest winning hand is paid, e.g. if three of a kind is achieved then only the prize for "Three of a Kind" is paid, not any prizes for "Jacks or better". This hand prize is added to the total prize for the game, which is displayed throughout the game.
10) If the game consists of further hands the held cards are retained in the hand, the cards previously dealt out to the un-held card positions are returned to the deck (i.e. the deck is identical in composition prior to each hand re-deal), the deck is shuffled and new cards dealt from the deck to the now empty un-held card positions, completing a new hand.
11) Steps9) and 10) are then repeated until all hands are played out, with the total prize accumulating from all of the individual hand prizes, if any.
12) If the player leaves the game or is disconnected before all requested hands have been displayed they must complete the play out of the game, i.e. all remaining hands must be played out, before placing any further bets in Video Poker (including Double or Quits). Incomplete games are held indefinitely on the server and are automatically rejoined when the player reconnects to or restarts the game.
13) On completing the final hand and thus the game the player is offered the option of playing Double or Quits with the total prize as the stake or of collecting their prize. The total prize is not paid to their account until they make this decision. If they chose to collect, the total prize is added to their balance. If they choose to gamble, the total prize is added to their balance and then the bet for the Double or Quits game, equal to the total prize in value, is deducted immediately.
Double or Quits
1) The Double or Quits "gamble" feature is a separate game with distinct odds, which is offered on completion of a Video Poker game when a prize has been won, i.e. all hands have been displayed and the player informed of a final total prize.
The amount gambled on this Double or Quits game is always equal to the total prize won from the Video Poker game. For instance if a three hand Video Poker game wins £0, £1 and £3 for a total prize of £4, £4 is the stake.
3) If they decline the offer to play Double or Quits the total prize from Video Poker is added to their balance and they return to the screen where they may decide to play Video Poker again. The player will see their balance increase by this amount at this point.
4) If they choose to gamble on a game of Double or Quits the total prize from Video Poker is added to their balance and then the same amount is immediately deducted from their balance as the stake for Double or Quits. The player does not see their balance change.
5) One card is dealt face up. This is the dealer's card.
6) Four more cards are dealt face down.
7) The player selects one of these four cards and it is turned face up. This is the player's card.
8) If the player's card is of a higher value than the dealer's card the player wins. If the cards are equal or the player's card is lower than the dealer's card then the player loses. Aces are always high and have a value of 14. Face cards are valued as follows: Jack = 11, Queen = 12, King = 13.
9) If the player wins they win double their stake.
10) If the player loses then they lose their stake.
11) If they lose then they return to the screen where they may decide to play Video Poker again.
12) If they win then they are offered another game of Double or Quits using the previous Double or Quits game prize as the bet, e.g. in the example above the bet was £4. If they accept Double or Quits and win the prize will be £8. £8 is the stake for the offered game of Double or Quits.
13) If they decline the game they collect their winnings and the prize value is added to their balance and they return to the screen where they may decide to play Video Poker again.
14) If they accept the prize value is added to their balance and the same amount is immediately deducted from their balance as the bet for the new game of Double or Quits and steps 5) to 14) are repeated.
15) All cards are returned to the deck and the deck is shuffled between games.
16) If a player leaves or is disconnected from Double or Quits before the game is completed they must complete the game (either by losing the bet or by collecting the winnings) before they may play another game of Video Poker. The game is automatically rejoined when they reconnect or restart the game.
