It's Bingo For Bluebell as Mecca Doncaster Gets Behind Children's Hospice

Staff and customers at the Mecca Bingo Club in Doncaster are launching a long-term commitment to supporting the Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice - and aim to raise £800 through its first venture.

The Club is holding a Friday Funday afternoon on August 3rd with a 'bunch' of activities for Bluebell.

Staff will be dressed in funfair costumes, there'll be fairground music, and there will also be a selection of game stalls with games donated by a local school, Park Primary, with prizes of chocolates, bubbly, meal and drink vouchers, and Mecca keyrings, pens and dabbers.

The Hospice itself will have a display and its own stall and £1 from every £6 book of bingo tickets sold for the day will go towards supporting Bluebell.

Mecca Doncaster general manager Peter Smailes is the man behind the commitment to Bluebell: "I just think it's so important to fully support the community as when you think about it, bingo clubs really are at the heart of the communities they serve. I couldn't think of a better cause than supporting this fantastic Hospice and hope that we can go on to raise thousands for them over the coming months and years".

As part of the funfair theme there will be a Balloon Race and the Club has even arranged to have its own medieval stocks installed for the day - giving people the chance to get their own back on Peter Smailes and some of his colleagues!
