The 76-year-old man, who wants to remain anonymous, has been playing bingo for nearly forty years. He plays at the Mecca Club in All Saints Green, Norwich two or three times a week. “I live about equal distance from that club and the one in Ipswich but I like the Norwich one better,” he said. It was on Monday evening, 3 December that Lady Luck came calling and he won the National Bingo Game prize of £40,000 plus the house prize of £54. He completed a full house in 42 numbers, the lowest call in any of the 470 clubs playing nationwide. The man has two daughters, six grandchildren and two great grandchildren and said they could all look forward to an extra Christmas box this year. “I will get another motor and then save the rest for the moment,” he added. |
