The lucky winner, who does not want to be named, was playing on Sunday evening, 3 February along with her husband when good fortune struck.  

The National Bingo Game prize was £79,320, but she had to share with a player in London who also completed a full house in 45 numbers, the lowest call in any of the 470 clubs playing nationwide. In addition, she won the zone prize of £3,077 and the house prize of £500.

She plays at the Mecca Club twice a week on Sunday and Wednesday evenings and this was her first really big win.
“I was extremely happy when I won the house prize of £500,” she said, “and so was absolutely thrilled when they announced I had won the National Game as well. But it certainly came as a shock.”

Asked what she will do with the money, she said she intended to treat her family of three children and six grandchildren and take a cruise.
