£10,000 bingo shock for Wirral woman

A 65-year-old woman from Long Sutton has won more than £10,000, thanks to playing bingo. 

The lucky winner is Mrs Anne Davis, the mother of three sons, two of whom still live at home. She who was playing at the Mecca Club in Marina Drive,  Ellesmere Port last Friday, 22 February when good fortune struck.

She won the National Bingo Afternoon Delight Game prize of £9,410 together with the Regional prize of £1,232 and the house prize of £17. She completed a full house in 44 numbers, the lowest call in any of the 470 clubs playing nationwide. 

Mrs Davis cried with shock and happiness when it was announced how much she had won.

She has been a member at the Ellesmere Port Club since it opened in 1992 and plays there twice a week with her 93-year-old mother and a friend.
