England goes Smokefree - 1st July 2007

The national smoking legislation will come into effect on 1st July 2007. We at Mecca Bingo are doing everything we can to accommodate our members who wish to continue smoking and also to support those members who are looking to quit to coincide with the law.

When the legislation comes into force, smoking will be outlawed from any indoor public space, including pubs, bars, restaurants, night clubs and bingo clubs. Where possible we are building designated smoking areas which will be clearly signposted in-club and we are constantly looking at other ways to make the transition as easy as possible for members.

Similar legislation is already in place in Scotland and Wales where we have had a large number of positive comments from both our smoking and non-smoking customers who are enjoying the cleaner, fresher smoke free environment in the clubs.
