Margaret Shearer scooped the top prize this afternoon at the Mecca Bingo Club at Glasgow Forge. Margaret, 46, from Ruchazie, is normally a calm and unruffled character, but says she was experiencing hot flushes before she started to play in the late lunchtime session and just felt that something was going to happen. "It’s not sunk in yet and I just haven’t a clue what I’m going to do with the money. It's such an enormous amount that it's difficult to grasp what it really means". The mother of two is a regular at Glasgow Forge and has been a Mecca member for almost 30 years. Her regular playing companion is her mother…whose surname is Money! Margaret is a superstitious creature of habit and always carries a miniature Buddha figure in her handbag. Grant Munro, manager at Mecca Bingo Glasgow Forge, was there to see Margaret scoop the jackpot prize. "Her face was a picture of stunned silence, but the rest of the Club went absolutely wild and they were all so pleased for her. It was just bedlam but right now she’s the calmest person in the club". The £1M Mecca Millionaire game was launched on September 1st and aims to create a new millionaire on average every 45 days. |
